My work is concerned with how people learn, understand, and communicate complex ideas and technologies, drawing on cognitive science, education, linguistics, and human-computer interaction. I also write more broadly about the things I find interesting, from philosophy and technology to film and books. Richard Dawkins and the Pragmatics of Gender

An examination of Dawkins’ changing use of pronouns for Claude, arguing that what they communicate about identity and personhood challenges his purely grammatical conception of gender.
